MRS. J. L. STEWART DIES ON MAY 15

Margaret Belle Orr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Orr, was born on a farm near Maquoketa November 5, 1873. She attended the local school and after graduation, taught for a number of years in the rural schools of Jackson county. Many local residents remember her as one of their favorite teachers. She then attended Valparaiso University and after graduating in 1900 taught in the high school at Valley City, N. Dak.
On March 2, 1904, she was united in marriage with James L. Stewart, who preceded her in death on June 10, 1949. To this union was born one son, Willard C. Stewart. Other survivors are two grandchildren, Roger Tabor Stewart and Nancy Jo Stewart; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Johnson and Mrs. Gertrude Boxell, both of Marion, and one brother, J.W. Orr of Hadley, Pa. Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church in Cedar Rapids and was very active in church and club circles.
For the past several weeks she had made her home at 217 Park Court, Cedar Rapids, where she died May 15.
