MAQUOKETA — Dula C. Hammond, 88, of Maquoketa, died Tuesday at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springbrook.

She was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Jackson County to Nicholas and Mary Schmidt Tebbe. She married Harold Michel on Oct. 17, 1939. He died in 1940. In 1961, she married Lloyd Hammond. He died in 1990.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a machine operator with Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for 15 years. She also did house cleaning for many years in the Jackson County area.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its church circle.

Survivors include three sisters, Madonna (Edward) Mueller, Bendina (Gorden) Petesch and Velma (Richard) Lampe, all of Bellevue; one brother, Lloyd Tebbe of Springbrook; one sister-in-law, Laura Tebbe of Bellevue; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, parents, two sisters and one brother.
