MAQUOKETA — Jason Scott “Jake” Arnold, 36, of DeWitt, died Sunday near Grand Mound.
Burial will be in the Pence Cemetery, rural Baldwin.
He was born on December 23, 1970, in Gardena, Calif., to Linda (Chase) Arnold. He attended Maquoketa Community High School and received his GED.
He worked as a carpenter and a mechanic and was known as a “jack of all trades.” He had worked for various area contractors as a subcontractor. He also owned his own business with Bill Benton, known as Bill Benton and Jason Arnold Construction.
Survivors include two children, Chelsi Heiser of Delmar, and Bryce Stumpf-Arnold of Waukama, Wash.; his mother and stepfather, Linda Arnold and Lloyd Evans of Baldwin; two brothers, Brian Arnold of DeWitt and Robert (Kelly) Arnold of DeWitt; three stepbrothers, Donald (Denise) Evans of Delmar, Mike (Carol) Evans of Baldwin, and Timmy Evans of Des Moines; a stepsister, Pam (Mrs. John) Schmidt of Maquoketa,; and his significant other, Becky Franck of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, his stepfather and his uncle.
