DERBY-Mrs. Nathaniel Derby died at the home of her son-in-law, Lee H. Shrigley, at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5. She was buried Friday afternoon, the funeral services being held at the house, and conducted by Rev. H.Clark. Deceased, whose maiden name was Eleanor Jane Rhodes, was born at Granville, New York, June 30, 1810. She was married to Nathaniel Derby January 19, 1832, and came to Maquoketa, April, 1855. She joined the Baptist Church of this city in the early sixties. She was a true Christian woman in all the relationship of life, God-ward and man-ward. She leaves three sons and three daughters.
