Maquoketa Record, October 24, 1906:
Archibald Wing was born in Glens Falls, Warren County, New York, April 3, 1815, and died of old age, Oct 18, 1906, aged 91 years, 6 months, and 14 days. Sixty years ago he was married to Grace Harris at Victor, New York. Four children blessed this union, 3 sons and 1 daughter. The three son, Edwin, William and Richard, survive. In 1865, Mr. and Mrs. Wing came to this state and settled on the present home place and here they lived ever since. The daughter died in infancy and Mrs. Wing preceded her husband in death about 2 1/2 years ago. The three sons and large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive to mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at his late home four miles east of town on Sunday, October 21st, conducted by G. C. Chandler, after which the remains were laid to rest beside his wife in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
