MAQUOKETA — Gladys M. Miller Goody, 94, of Maquoketa, died Friday at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa.
Burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 14, 1912, in Jackson County to Carl and Angeline E. DeMoss Johnson. She married Harlan V. Miller in 1931 in Davenport. She then married Robert Goody in 1954 in Kahoka, Mo.
She graduated from Monmouth High School.
She was a caregiver and also worked with Clinton Engines, Fareway stores and Dolch’s Bakery. She also worked at a number of places in Iowa City, which included Wetstones for four years and Barb’s Bakery.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Maquoketa, where she served as a deaconess. She also served as secretary of the Jackson County Senior Center in Maquoketa.
Survivors include her children, Harlan “Butch” (Donna) Miller of Monmouth and Donna (Jeff) Hinke of Escondido, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Myron (Mildred) Johnson of Packwood.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Maquoketa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two brothers, one sister and two great-great-grandchildren.
