AMOS A. ROGERS DIES SATURDAY
Amos Alonzo Rogers, 86, died Saturday in his home south of Maquoketa.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday in the Carson funeral home with the Rev. Herbert Shaffer of the Delmar Methodist church officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Mr. Rogers, a retired furniture dealer, was born Oct. 3, 1864 in Lyons, a son of Haskel and Matilda Rogers. He was married Oct. 3, 1940 in Tipton to Maude Goodenow who survives. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Craig, who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, one nephew and three nieces. Mrs. Craig was the youngest and Mr. Rogers, the oldest, of twelve children.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Delbert and Stewart, five brothers and five sisters.
