JOHN CAMPBELL, 89, DIES; FUNERAL IS TUESDAY
Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at Buchner chapel for John Campbell, 89, pioneer Maquoketan who died at his home here Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Maurice Powers officiated and burial was in Buckhorn cemetery.
Born in Belfast, Ireland, the deceased came to America in 1864, locating in Jackson county where he has since resided. He served for nine years as a member of the board of supervisors and until 1916 was a livestock dealer.
He was married Nov. 11, 1886 to Eva Irwin, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Allen of Charles City, Mrs. Ruth Donielson and Mrs. Stella Myatt, of Maquoketa, and three sons, Harry Campbell of Inglewood, Calif., John W. Campbell of Los Angeles, and James Campbell of Kansas City, Mo.; also one brother, James Campbell of Maquoketa, and three sisters, Mrs. M. D. McCarthy, Mrs. Eliza Lyda and Mrs. Jennie Brinker, all of Maquoketa.
