MRS. HENRY NIELAND

Mrs. Henry Nieland, 78, of Maquoketa, died Saturday evening in Jackson County Public hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Carson funeral home. Rev. Alvern Kinrade will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.

The former Amelia Schocker was born Jan. 8, 1876, east of Maquoketa to the late Nicholas and Sophia Schocker. On July 23, 1890, she was married to Henry Nieland, who died in 1945.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Caroline Henricksen, Mrs. Cora Elkins, both of Maquoketa and Mrs. Mary Boyle, Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one brother, August of Maquoketa.

Preceding her in death were her husband, two brothers and two sisters.
