LESTER E. SCOTT DIES IN HOME OF SON AUG. 13TH

Lester Edmund Scott, son of Silas and Emelia Scott, was born at LeMars, Iowa, on Nov. 20, 1896. At the age of nine years the family moved to Lost Nation where he resided for over thirty years then moved near Baldwin where he lived eight years. Later he purchased a farm near Wyoming where he lived at the time of his death.

He attended Lost Nation school and graduated for the Sweeney automobile school at Kansas City, Mo. On March 8, 1922 he was married to Grace Schocker of Maquoketa and to this union two children were born, Dale of Lost Nation and Donna, now Mrs. Leon Suthers of Maquoketa.

He was a member of the Methodist church, Wyoming, and a member of the church board.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, two children, and four grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers; Ethel Luett of Maquoketa, Holly Mohr of Mediapolis, Iowa, Henry of Davenport, Ernest of Bryant, Mabel Horstman of Toronto and Ira of Lost Nation, and two half brothers, Ed Scott of Timber Lake, S.D. and Will Scott, Silver Springs, Md. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Anson of Wichita, Kans.

He passed away of a heart attack on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 5 p.m. at the home of his son Dale near Lost Nation. He leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his early passing. Funeral services were held Aug. 16 at the Wyoming Methodist church. Rev. F.E. Sommerville was in charge.

Relatives attending from a distance were from Witchita, Kans., Chicago, Kewanee, Ill., Cedar Falls, Davenport, Mediapolis, and other surrounding towns.
