MRS. J. SCHOCKER FUNERAL HELD HERE MONDAY
Last rites for Mrs. John Schocker, 77, who died Thursday evening in the Jackson County Public hospital, were held from the family home to Sacred Heart Catholic church at 9 a.m. Monday. The Rev. E. W. Loosbrock, pastor, officiated and burial was made in Sacred Heart cemetery. Haylock-O'Hara funeral home had charge of arrangements.
As Margaret, she was born Nov. 23, 1877, in Belfast, Ireland, a daughter of John and Ann Reilly Murray. She came to the United States in 1883 and has resided in Maquoketa since 1924. On Feb. 3, 1897, she was married to John Schocker who preceded her in death. She was a member of Sacred Heart church and the altar and rosary society.
She is survived by one son, Earl of Maquoketa, a brother, James Murray of Clinton, and several grandchildren and great-grandchldren.
Her husband, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.
