Mrs. Louise Heoppner, a resident of the C. C. Cook home, died there at 5 a.m. today following an extended illness.
She was born in Semlow, Germany, August 28, 1863, and came to this country at the age of 18. She had resided in Davenport for 41 years. In 1880 she married John Hoeppner in Maquoketa.
Mrs. Heoppner was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ricky Harder of Maquoketa and Mrs. Minnie Loitz, of Calamus; three brothers, John Loitz of Wisconsin and Fred and Albert Loitz both of Maquoketa; one niece, Mrs. Emma Schmidt, of Davenport; one grandson, Alfred Jacobs of Davenport; and two great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Horrigan home for funerals and will be returned to the Cook home Monday morning where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
DEATH DATE: July 13, 1940
SOURCE: Private collections of newspaper clippings.
NOTE: The name Heoppner was spelled two ways in the obituary and is not a typo. As Mrs. Heoppner's maiden name was Loitz I believe that her surviving sister, Mrs. Minnie Loitz may possibly be a miss. Again, this is not a typo and was copied from the article.
