J.P.Eads, an old resident of this county, passed out at his home near Emeline last Friday. He had been sick since last fall and his death was looked for at almost any time. He was a charter member of Emeline Lodge No. 341, I.O.O.F., and that organization performed the last rites at the church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. He leaves a wife and family to mourn their loss. (Maquoketa Record, April 23, 1902.)
