He attended the country schools and the Miles Business College. On January 22, 1901, he was married to Nellie Shattuck. Two sons were born to this union, Jackson and Otto.

At the time of his marriage he was clerking at the Trout Hardware Co., of Maquoketa. He later bought the Maxwell interest in the Laird and Maxwell Clothing Co. of Maquoketa and operated it under the name of Laird and Maxwell Clothing Co. In time he purchased the Laird interest in the business and moved it to the location of the present B & B store under the name of the Krumveide Clothing Co.

In 1931 Mr. Krumveide sold out and moved to Dubuque, and from there moved to New York three years ago. Since moving east Mr. Krumveide has been in poor health, his illness keeping him bedfast since August of 1938.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Jackson of Albany, N. Y. and Otto of Cedar Rapids, and a foster daughter, Marguerite Black of Chicago, one sister, Mrs. F. G. Hunter, of Chicago and two granddaughters, Julie and Barbara.

As a child he was baptised and confirmed in the Reformed church in Albany township, and has held membership there during his lifetime.
