S.S. COLLIPRIEST DIES SUDDENLY WEDNESDAY; FUNERAL RITES FRIDAY

S. S. Collipriest, a life-long resident of Jackson county, died suddenly at his home in this city Wednesday at 10 a.m. Mr. Collipriest had been in his usual good health, having returned Saturday from Montana where he had purchased stock. He suffered a stroke on Wednesday, and failed to recover.

Samuel Simeson Collipriest, a son of George and Hannah Collipriest, was born in Jackson county, Dec. 19, 1864 and he spent his entire life in this county. He resided on a farm north of Maquoketa when a youth and for the past 12 years lived in this city.

He is survived by one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Coogle of Lakeland, Fla.; and the following nieces and nephews, George and Edward Collipriest of Colorado, Verne Nims of Nebraska, George, Nelle and Anna Coogle of Florida, Clyde, Tom, Jessie, Marion Nims, and Mrs. Alice McKinsey all of Maquoketa. One sister and four brothers preceded him in death, one brother having passed away several days ago.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from the home on E. Platt street, the Rev. H. H. Dill, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Interment will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
