Sad Death of Walter Ingalls.

While watering the horses on their farm near Andrew on July 26th, Walter Ingalls, the twin son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ingalls, was severely kicked in the ribs by one of the horses. The ribs were not broken but the kick was marked by a red spot which the physician thought would soon pass away. The injured boy was able to be about and to partake of his meals but after breakfast Thursday morning, severe pains came, showing peritonitis had set in and before the day's end the boy died.

He was born at Bellevue on Feb. 24, 1894, and was one of boy twins. His parents removed to Dubuque when he was six months old and resided there until they came to Maquoketa in the fall of 1907. The next spring they moved to the farm where the youth just died. The boy attended school in Maquoketa until late March when ill health compelled him to give up his school duties. He is survived by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. His father was a well known railroad mail clerk on the Dubuque and Sioux City run on the Illinois Central for eighteen years before he moved to Maquoketa.

The funeral took place from the home Sunday afternoon and was attended by a large concourse of sympathizing friends, neighbors and schoolmates. Interment took place in Mount Hope cemetery, Rev. A. T. Foster officiating.
