JOSEPHINE BOWMAN PASSES AWAY
Josephine Bowman, who has been a patient sufferer for several weeks, passed away Thursday at the hospital in Iowa City where she had been taken a few days previous to seek medical relief. She had been a resident of Jackson county all of her life and since the death of her parents, she and her sister Sarah have continued to reside in the home on East Platt street where her parents had spent the last years of their lives. Her health has been rapidly failing since December and for the past eight weeks she has been confined to her bed.
She is survived by her sister, Miss Sarah, who will miss her loving companionship, Mrs. T. J. Lemon of Davenport, Mrs. Will H. Taubman of Cresco, and Mrs. Clarissa Taylor of Corning, Ia. One brother, A. J. Bowman of this city, also survives.
Funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternoon, and were in charge of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. The body was laid to rest in Mt.Hope cemetery, the casket bearers being six of her cousins, Homer, Ira, Elmer, Gilbert, Walter and Jesse Bowman.
