William Ruff, 80, Fulton, Dies Mar. 2, Last Rites Held.
Fulton, Mar. 8(1950)-William Ruff, 80, died Thursday following an extended illness. Last rites were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Carson-Balster funeral home, Maquoketa. The Rev. Wilbur Wilcox officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery.
William Ruff, son of the late Jacob and Mary Meyer Ruff was born Oct. 28, 1879, at Fulton. On Mar. 25, 1895, he married Lettie Baird. The couple had lived on a farm south of here all of their 55 wedded years.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Oma Rogers, Santa Cruz, California; one son, Harlan, Fulton; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Faber and Mrs. Louisa Rogger, both of Maquoketa; one brother, Bert Ruff, also of Maquoketa; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, four brothers and a daughter, Nettie Klein, who died Dec. 6, 1947. Mr. Ruff was a member of the Fulton I.O.O.F. since 1914.
