JOHNNY WRIGHT
Funeral services for Johnny Wright, 70, of Maquoketa, who died Monday morning, February 7,(1972), at the Hurst Hotel, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday at the Haylock-O'Hara Funeral Home. The Rev. Russell Fate of the United Church of Christ will officiate; burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Wright was born May 1, 1901, in Maquoketa, the son of Howard and Minnie Glaser Wright.
Johnny Wright was a well-known musician in this area for his entire life. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post in Maquoketa.
Mr. Wright is survived by his sister, Mrs. Carlyle(Wilma)Bowman of Maquoketa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Saturday Sentinel will carry a feature on Mr. Wright's life.
