ARNOLD KOKEMULLER
Arnold W. Kokemuller, 81 of Davenport died Friday, June 18, 1999 at Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Davenport, following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 11;30 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at the Runge Mortuary Chapel in Davenport.
Visitation was held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
Burial was in Davenport Memeorial Park Cemetery, where military rites were conducted by the Davenport American Legion Post 26.
Mr. Kokemuller was born feb. 24, 1918 in Baldwin to Charles and Edna Downer Kokemuller. On Sept. 16, 1945 he married Elsie. W. Petersen in Maquoketa.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He was a farmer from 1945 to 1965 and was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal from 1969 until his retirement in 1977.
He was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Davenport, the Davenport American Legion Post 26, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees chapter 279, CASI, Mercy Silver Service and the american Association of Retired Persons.
He loved his family and enjoyed camping walking and flowers.
Survivors include his wive; two sons, Lynn (and Sharon) Kokemuller of Muscatine and David Kokemuller of Davenport; four grandchildren; six sisters, Mildred Fischer and Viola Conn both of Arkansas, Virginia Struck of Atalissa, Pauline Ales of Bellevue, Vivian Meyer of Big Rock, and Shirley Reading of Texas, and a brother, Charles Kokemuller of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a grandson.
Memorials may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church.
