BELLEVUE — Willis Hugh Doland, 82, of Bellevue, died Tuesday at his home.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

He was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Maquoketa to Forrest and Elizabeth Corbitt Doland. He married Marilyn Ernst on May 6, 1950, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bellevue.

He worked 36 years at John Deere Dubuque Works before retiring in October of 1983.

He served during World War II. He was an 82nd Airborne Army Infantryman with the 508 Parachute Regiment.

He was a member of Bellevue American Legion Post 273 and United Auto Workers Local 94.

Survivors include his wife; children, David (Barb) Doland of Bettendorf, Larry Doland of Bellevue, Steve Doland of San Francisco, Mary (David) Voelkel of Cedar Rapids, Bruce (Suzie) Doland of Lewisville, Texas, Karen Doland of Des Moines and Lisa (Scott) Yeager of Huxley; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, Forrest Doland of Mesa, Ariz., Dilman Doland of East Hampton, Mass., Donn (Virginia) Doland of Juneau, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild, one sister, one brother and in-laws.
