MAQUOKETA — Emma M. Steines, 86, of Maquoketa, died Sunday at the Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in Andrew Cemetery.

She was born March 8, 1920, in Jackson County to John and Louise Duhme Selzer. She married Walter Steines.

She was educated in Jackson County country schools.

She worked with the Savanna (Ill.) Ordnance Depot for several years. She then worked for 21 years at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, as a nurse’s aide.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew, and its WELCA.

Survivors include two nephews and one niece.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Jackson County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
