MAQUOKETA — Neil C. Faulkner, 59, of Maquoketa, died Saturday at his home.

He was born March 4, 1947, in Iowa City to Junior Earl Faulkner and Betty Jane Dague Faulkner. He married Carol B. Harris on Dec. 13, 1970, in Elko, Nev.

He graduated from Maquoketa High School and Scott Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was a cook in his early years. He then worked as a tool and die maker and then as a self-employed computer programmer.

Survivors include his wife; nine children, Bethany Faulkner of Maquoketa, Gene Faulkner of Dubuque, James (Bobbie) Faulkner of Florida, Daniel Faulkner of Clinton, Randolph (Anita) Faulkner of Bellevue, Jason Faulkner of Maquoketa, Andrea Faulkner of Maquoketa, Holly (Mike) Perkins of Maquoketa and Ginny (Ron) Riordan of Maquoketa; three brothers, Jorge Faulkner of Clinton, Chester Faulkner of Louisiana and Edward Faulkner of Maquoketa; six sisters, Sandy Starr of Maquoketa, Tara Woolison of Olin, Paula Jo Howell of Maquoketa, Rita Faye Broaders of Haine City, Fla., Earla-Jean Williams of Nocatee, Fla., and Rebecca Faulkner of Arcadia, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A Neil C. Faulkner Memorial Fund has been established.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two grandchildren and two brothers.
