DELMAR — Aloysius P. “Al” Till, 76, of Delmar, died Saturday at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Jackson County to Anthony and Lucille Entringer Till. He married Jean Petersen on April 27, 1957, in Andrew.

He was a 1948 graduate of Andrew High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.

He worked with Clinton Engines, Maquoketa, and then farmed in the Lost Nation and Delmar area for 20 years before moving to Delmar in 1977. He then worked with Goetz (Beidler) Implement for five years. He retired in 1992 after working for 10 years as a semi-truck driver with RFK, Cedar Rapids. He also drove cars with Rotman Motor Co.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Rod (Lauri) Till of Clinton and Todd (Rachel) Till of Delmar; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; brothers, Ronald (Rosemary) Till of Andrew, Roger (Helen) Till of Des Moines and Eugene (Lek) Till of Denver, Colo.; and sisters, Rosemary (Pete) Feller of Preston, Doris (Ray) Theisen of Bellevue, Marceline (Merlin) Gonner of East Dubuque, Ill., and Carol (Mick) Clark of Maquoketa.

An Aloysius P. “Al” Till Memorial Fund has been established.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
