PRESTON — Helen Caroline Geronsin Mohr, 83, of Preston, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

Burial will be in Preston Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Clinton to Christian and Anna Willadsen Geronsin. She married Melvin Mohr on Oct. 10, 1943, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Preston.

She graduated from Fenton (Iowa) High School in 1940 and from Jane Lamb School of Nursing, Clinton, in 1943.

She was a registered nurse with Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, and Mercy Medical Center, Clinton.

Survivors include one son, Gary (Julie) Mohr of Coralville; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Vinet of Littleton, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and three brothers.
