MAQUOKETA — Francis L. Zismer, 88, of Maquoketa, died Thursday at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

He was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Delmar to John August and Jesse Mae Kinner Zismer. He married Helen L. Jacobsen on Aug. 19, 1945, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte. She died in 1999.

He was a farmer in the Maquoketa area.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church and Jackson County Farm Bureau, Maquoketa.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Theron) Cammer of Pasco, Wash.; two sons, Carl (Mary Jane) Zismer of Maquoketa and Earl (Diane) Zismer of Dubuque; three grandchildren; and one sister, Grace Zismer of Dubuque.

A memorial fund has been established.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one grandchild.
