“Child Suffers Severe Injury
Vera, the ten-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Risden, residing in the first ward, suffered a very painful injury Tuesday evening at the home of her grandfather, William Rowe. She was playing around a feed cutter, and in some way her right hand became caught in the cogs of the machine, and the first and second fingers were terribly lacerated: Doctor Ristine was called and dressed the injury and has hopes of saving the second finger, but the index finger will have to be amputated Miss Vera is taking her misfortune like a heroine, and her many friends hope that she will experience no complications arising from the injury."
