STAGE COACH ACCIDENT

Some two weeks since, Mr. O'Sullivan, residing in Jackson County, while on his way to Warren, was capsized in the stage coach and most horribly mangled; so much so in fact that his life was for some days despaired of. From his representation of the matter, the conduct of the driver was very reprehensible. He says the accident was the result of running horses, originating in a spirit of rivalry between two stage coach companies, and that the stage coach in which he was seated, left the road to make a near cut. Accidents of this kind are quite frequent enough with the utmost care which can be observed by drivers in keeping the road, wthout having to seek difficulties. Mr. O'Sullivan has been a severe sufferer from this accident and it is to be hoped that his fate will admonish drivers to be more careful in the future,
The agent of Frick & Company, at this place, is a very careful man and had he been with the stage coach, this accident, we are persuaded, would not have occurred.
