DISTRICT COURT
There have been several divorces granted this term and all sorts of causes set forth to make the prayers seem just in the judgment of the court. A certain case from Tete des Mortes township, however, is setting forth statements of a peculiar nature. The plaintiff Edward Eust states that he “was married to defendant Celestina Eust in Maquoketa, Sept. 5, 1883, believing at the time she was capable of performing the duties of married life, but that she, the said defendant, was impotent and wholly incapable of performing the duties of married life, that she was at the time of said marriage and is now neither a woman or a man, and that her impotency is permanent.” For this he asks the marriage be annulled.
