BELLEVUE ATTORNEY SUED BY BANK RECEIVER
Eli Cole,Jr, Bellevue capitalist and attorney, is defendant in an action filed in the district court of Jackson county by L. R. Laird, receiver of the Golden Valley State Bank of Beach, North Dakota, in which judgment of $24,500 is asked, this amount, being due on an assessment of stock of the bank owned by the Bellevue man, the petition declares.
Attorneys for the bank receiver, in announcing the filing of the action, stated that the North Dakota bank is capitalized for $50,000 and that $24,000 of the capital stock is registered as being owned by the Bellevue capitalist. The bank closed February 23, 1926, and a receiver was appointed. A 100 per cent assessment was levied against the stock of the bank and Eli Cole, the petition alleges, has failed to pay this assessment.
