Woman’s Suffrage Society
Miss Nancy Dunham, secretary of the Woman’s Suffrage Society of Maquoketa, returned petitions from this locality to the Iowa Legislature Thursday, asking for an amendment to the constitution giving the women of Iowa the right to vote. On these petitions were no less than 2,275 names of which 1,448 were women and 827 men. These names may include a goodly number of farmers, though no canvass has been made of them.
