Jackson Sentinel, June 27, 1878.
As John Linden and another man by the name of Pinch were returning home to Bellevue from the country, last Saturday evening, with a load of wood, they, by some mistake in driving, ran their team over the embankment just above town, upsetting the load of wood on themselves, killing Linden instantly, and badly bruising the other man, Pinch. By their sides was found a jug of whiskey, which perhaps, may account for the crooked driving. Pinch, when discovered was limber drunk, and could give no response as to how the accident occurred.
