STOLEN HORSES RECOVERED-

As a number of persons in this and Clinton counties have had horses stolen, we would particularly call their attention to the following notice, which we clip from the Iowa State Democrat (Davenport) of the 15th:

“TAKE NOTICE-The undersigned residents of Hampton, Rock Island county, Illinois, have in their possession Four Horses, which they took from the possession of a horse thief, near LaSalle, in this state, on the 31st ult. One of said horses is a large sorrel horse, with both hind feet white, about seven years old, with some white in his face, another, a large sorrel horse, with both hind feet white, about three years old, with some white in the face; another, a black mare, about five years old and under size; another a brown mare, rather small, about three years old, with some white on one hind foot.

The owner of said animals can have the same by proving property therein and upon payment of our charges.

The undersigned were in possession of the thief, but he eloped from them by jumping from the cars while in full motion.”
