Jackson Sentinel
August 24, 1876-One of our citizens lately visited Zwingle, the enterprising village along the northern border of our county. He reports considerable improvement during the past year, Hon. Dan Cort and Wm. Simpson have erected and now occupy a fine large store room. Messrs Bauman and Albert Cort have erected a large steam flouring mill on Otter Creek close by the village. They expect to be ready for milling operations about the first of October. Zwingle also boasts a brass band and a monthly paper, The Youth’s Visitor, which has been published in good style for several years, by Schwan & Co.
