Diphtheria Causes Deaths in Jackson County
A girl of eight years, in the Behn family at Belle Grove, died of diphtheria on Monday. A young lady of 18, same family, was taken sick on the day of the former’s funeral and has also died. Six children in the family of Mr, Gibbelstein, also at Belle Grove, are sick with diphtheria, and two of them have lost the power of speech. There are four cases of the same dread disease in the family of Mr. Wentzel, near Hickson’s Mill. One of them is reported as having resulted fatally.
