Thomas Cave Killed By Train-

We have this week to chronicle another accident on the Midland, which caused the loss of life, this time near Bryant station. An old gentleman, Thomas Cave, for some years past a resident of this county, was killed by the cars last week. The old man, who was quite deaf, was walking on the track when a freight train in rapid motion approached. Mr. Cave, not hearing the whistle, but supposed to have felt the jar of the train, stepped to one side, but too late, for his doom, death, glared forth in the cylinder head of the engine, which struck its fatal blow, hurling its victim many feet from the track and this too, before the eyes of the old man’s son, who hurried to the spot. Thomas Cave was 70 years of age and had a number of relatives in the eastern part of the county.
