Gen. Custer Warns of Hostile Indians.

Maquoketa Weekly Excelsior, May 29, 1873.
Washington, May 23.- A dispatch received at the War Department from General Custer, dated Fort Randall, Dakota, on the 14th, contains the following statement:
"Fallis, a guide, sent to me from Fort Randall, reports positively that 200 warriors and young men belonging to the Yankton agency left their reservation a few days ago, to join the hostile Indians of the Upper Missouri, and that the Indians will muster 5000 warriors in the field this summer."
Washington, May 23.- The War Department has information that Fort Abraham Lincoln was attacked by 100 Sioux Indians May 7, the troops losing three horses, but no men. One Sioux was killed. Cavalry have been ordered there.
