December 24, 1920Preston Farmer is Killed By Train
Herb Bryant, a prosperous farmer, residing about two miles east of Preston, was instantly killed about eleven o’clock Wednesday morning, when the passenger train struck him at the crossing near the stock yards in Preston city. Mr. Bryant was a deaf mute and owing to the fog failed to see the approaching train in time to avoid being struck. He was going over to the stock yards to see some stock that was being loaded and it was near that place where the terrible accident occurred. He is survived by his wife, also a deaf mute, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Dickson of Preston. Mr. Bryant was respected by all in the community and universal sympathy goes to the bereaved ones.
