April 2, 1861SABULA ITEMS.. – Sabula has now a first-class steam Ferry, and her facilities in this respect are fully equal to Lyons. Sabula is bound to come up and rank among the first market towns on the River.
Her facilities for shipping grain cannot be beat, and the merchants and business men will give great inducements to farmers in the way of trade.
A good quality of lumber can always be found at Sabula, and generally a man can drive a full better trade in this community then at any lower point on the waters.
There being a steam Ferry here, it will be a good place for travelers to cross when going to any point east or west.
In the line of hotels, Sabula can give as good accommodations as any other river town (Bellevue not excepted,) and if we mistake not the traveler will find a temporary home at the ELDRIDGE HOUSE, which will induce them to give WADE a favorable name abroad.
