Rev. Father M. F. Eardley, who will have charge of St. Peter’s church is this city and Sacred Heart church at Green Island, arrived in the city Friday morning. Father Eardley is a genial, pleasant gentleman to meet and comes highly recommended as an eloquent, forceful speaker. Rev. Father O’Doherty will depart for his new parish at Albin, Alamakee county, at once, and takes with him the good will of this entire community, non-catholic as well as catholic.
