After many years of patient waiting, and imminent risk to life and limb, the Board of Supervisors of this county have at last determined to do Maquoketa an act of simple justice, and at their last session ordered the construction of a new iron bridge across the North Fork, at Tubbs' Mill. The bridge is to be manufactured by the Ohio Bridge Company, of Cleveland, and will be of the most substantial character. Work upon it is to be commenced early in the spring-that is, the abutments. The superstructure itself can be ready, if necessary, in ninety days. Now let us go to work to secure another one somewhere in the neighborhood of Sears' saw mill-above high water mark. This must be done if we would retain our hold upon the trade of Brandon, Butler and Farmers Creek Townships.
