In Memory of an Esteemed Citizen

At a meeting of the Jackson County Bar, held at the court room in the court house, this (Wednesday) afternoon, in addition to several addresses and remarks by the lawyers, the following resolutions as presented by Messrs. Johnson and Gregory, committee, were unanimously adopted:

Resolved, That in the death of S.D. Lyman, a member of the bar of Jackson County for nearly forty years, the bar and community have lost a fellow member and citizen, distinguished alike for uprightness, purity and unselfishness of character, for simplicity and courtesy of manner, within and without his profession, and for high attainments and usefulness as a lawyer and citzen.

Resolved, That we tender to the family of our deceased brother our sincere sympathy and that a copy of these resolutions be sent to them

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be presented to the District Court at the June term thereof with the request that the same be entered upon its records.
