Jackson Sentinel, September 29, 1898:
George Metheny of Company M, has been home on a furlough from Camp Cuba Libre near Jacksonville, Florida. George has gone through no battles it is true, but he has had a wrestle with malaria, that is distinctly visible in his appearance. However, he utters no bitter complaint against anyone.
