MAVIS BIES BRIDE OF GLENN BECK

Miss Mavis Bies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bies of Bellevue, became the bride of Glenn Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Beck, Maquoketa, at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Bellevue, Tuesday, August 25 at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. F.C. Bahning officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin and lace, fashioned with a fitted bodice and long sleeves which tapered to points over the wrists. Skirt and Cathederal-length train has lace inserts. Her veil of silk illusion fell from lace cloth head-peice trimmed in seed pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of coral pink roses with white streamers.

Miss Janella Bies, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a blue strapless gown topped with a capped sleeve bolero with mandarin collar. The skirt of double net over taffeta was accented by a lace peplum. Her net sweetheart hat was trimmed with seed pearls. Her flowers were white pompoms and yellow rose buds.

Miss Marilyn Meyer of chicago, cousin of the groom was bridesmaid. Her yellow gown was identical to that of the maid of honor. She carried white pompoms with blue rosebuds.

Miss Sharon Gruenwald, niece of the bridegroom was the flower girl. Her gown was fashioned of white net over taffeta with pink roses on the overskirt. Her head-peice was a crown of white lace with seed pearls. Her bouquet was white pompoms and pink roses.

Vincent Bies, brother of the bride was best man. Ushers were Melvin Bies, brother of the bride and Dennis Lawrence, brother-in-law of the groom.

Four hundred guests attended the reception held at the home of the bride's parents. Dinner was served at noon to 120.

For traveling, the bride wore a navy blue suit with pink and white accessories and a pink rose corsage.

Following a trip to the western states the couple will reside on a farm.
