1. G. H. Hess has sold his 177-acre farm east of this city, to W.G. Wurster for $90 per acre.

2. Oil has been found in a sink hole on the farm of Sam Earles, five miles northeast of Maquoketa and oil well drillers have visited the farm and pronounced the oil of good quality. Mr. Earles has been offered $20,000 for his 40-acre farm.
