PROPSTS WED 63 YEARS AGO.
Monmouth couple observe Anniversary.
MONMOUTH - Mr. and Mrs. J.H.Propst will celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary on Saturday, December 21.(1946)
Mrs. Propst, nee Neva Gilmore, was born in Mitchell County, Iowa, April 9, 1865, and came here with her grandparents, with whom she made her home, when she was 10 years old. James Harvey Propst was born in Scott County, Iowa, September 8, 1862, and came to Monmouth with his parents in 1873.
They were married at Maquoketa on December 21, 1883, and have lived their entire married life in Monmouth, with the exception of 5 years spent in Minnesota. They are the parents of three children, Fred of Tampa, Florida, Mrs. Lura Wood of Nashville, and Mrs. Ella Risinger of Skokie, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Propst enjoy good health and take pride in their garden and their flowers. Mr. Propst still works some at his trade of repairing clocks and watches. (The Jackson Sentinel, December 13, 1946.)
