CHRIS BECK, 81, DIES; FUNERAL ON SATURDAY
Funeral service for Chris BECK, 81, former Maquoketa area resident whoe died Saturday in San Diego, Calif., will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the W.G. Carson and Son funeral home. The Rev. M. H. Nothdurft, pastor of the local Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
A retired farmer, Mr. BECK was born Aug. 21, 1879, in Maquoketa, the son of John and Elizabeth BECK. In 1903, he married Fannie WHITMORE; she died in 1927. In 1941 he married Anna HINKELMAN who survives.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Oma RIPPLE of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Ralph (Wilma) DICE of Maquoketa; a son, Donald of Maquoketa; three brothers, William, Gottlieb and Henry BECK all of Maquoketa; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie WURSTER of Maquoketa; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His parents, first wife, two children, a brother and a sister preceded him in death. (Date of death 15 Apr 1961)
