William J. Melloy, the sturdy and industrious farmer's son and worthy and popular Democrat resides in the northern part of the county where he was born 33 years ago. Educated in the public school when being both bright and studious, he acquired the rudiments of a very good common school education which he later completed in a Dubuque commercial school.

He later became interested in local public affairs and informed himself on subjects pertaining to the welfare of the good citizen. A good boy at school, a faithful son at home, imbibed with the sentiment of patriotism and of a genial disposition he made friends of his acquaintances both old and young.

All who know him well will feel convinced that if the voters of Jackson County honor him with their support and elect him to the office to which his party nominated him. He will make a faithful and trusted servant of the public and no one who casts his vote for Will Melloy on the 3rd of November will ever have the occasion to regret the confidences and honor conferred upon him.
