Nicholas Hilbert – 1817- Katherine Langens

In researching the Hilbert Family, we start out with two Hilberts. They are Nicholas, born in 1814, who married Katherina Langens on April 11, 1858 in St. Donatus, Iowa. She was born in 1827 in Luxembourg and died on August 25, 1877 and is also buried at Saint Peter and Paul cemetery in Springbrook, Iowa. Nicholas died on August 7, 1886 and is also buried in Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springbrook, Iowa. I have no record of a family for Nicholas. However according to the 1880 census for Jackson County, Iowa, he would have been a brother of Franz Hilbert. According to his census information, he had Franz’ oldest son, Nicholas and his wife and their three oldest children living with him, and Nicholas was referred to as his nephew.
