Rev. T. S. Oadams
Rev. T. S. Oadams, a popular minister of Lyons, has been called to the pastorate of the Congregational church of Maquoketa. He was here last week and was favorably impressed with our town and people and those of our people who met Rev. Oadams were pleased with him. He has been tendered $1,100 and parsonage, which is equivalent to about $1,250 salary. The committee await his acceptance.
Clinton Herald, Clinton, Iowa, June 18, 1888
The trustees of the Congregational church at Lyons have been informed that the Rev. Mr. Oadams has been asked to become the pastor of the Congregational church at Maquoketa, at a neat advance in salary over that now paid him. A minister who has won the hearts of young men, the respect of ladies and gentlemen, and the love of the little folks so rapidly as Mr. Oadams is just the man the Lyons church needs.
